Outpatient hospice and palliative care service celebrates anniversary
To mark its 25th anniversary, the “Ambulante Hospiz- und Palliativdienst Ried eV – Wegwarte” in cooperation with the advice center for older people in the southern district of Riedstadt and Stockstadt am Rhein invites you to a special event.
The centerpiece of the anniversary program is a keynote speech by Dr. Swantje Goebel on the current topic: “Living self-determined, dying self-determined” on Thursday, January 30th at 6 pm in the town hall in Riedstadt-Goddelau.
Sociologist Dr. Swantje Goebel has been active in hospice work for 25 years, is involved in the German Society for Patient Dignity (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Patientenwürde e.V.), and serves on the board of the Hospiz Bergstraße facilities in Bensheim, southern Hesse. With extensive experience in hospice culture and palliative care expertise, her presentation will illuminate key questions surrounding autonomy and quality of life in the final stages of life, as well as delve into the profound question of how a self-determined life can be achieved until the very end.
The "Wegwarte" outpatient hospice service has been dedicated to supporting the seriously ill and their families for 25 years. This anniversary provides an opportunity to recognize the valuable work of the volunteers and to underscore the importance of hospice care in our society.
The event is open to everyone, regardless of whether they have previous experience with hospice care or are exploring the topic for the first time. Participation is free, and registration is not required. The Wegwarte e.V. outpatient hospice service and the counseling center for older people look forward to welcoming many visitors and to an inspiring evening that offers space for questions, getting to know one another, and exchanging ideas.
