The Poseidon literary group presents texts on collapse and new beginnings
May 8, 2025, marked the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. It signified the complete defeat of the Nazi dictatorship – militarily, politically, ideologically, and morally. Destruction and capitulation were followed by the dawn of a new era of peace, freedom, and democracy.
The literary group Poseidon will address this period of upheaval in a reading on Thursday, October 9th, at the Literaturhaus Darmstadt (Kasinostraße 3). The authors will approach the topic using a variety of literary forms – essays, poems, short stories, and eyewitness accounts.
Participants include Finn Holitzka, Frank Schuster, Iris Welker-Sturm, Barbara Zeizinger, Fritz Deppert, Jutta Janzen, Andreas Roß, Dorit Zinn, Marc Mandel, Gerty Mohr, Bastian Kienitz, and Marina D'Oro. PH Gruner will give the introduction.
The reading begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free; donations are welcome. The event is jointly organized by the City of Darmstadt, the FrankfurtRheinMain Cultural Region, and the Poseidon Literary Group.
