Partnership with Ushgorod: Plans for a rehabilitation center for war injuries
A delegation from Darmstadt's Ukrainian twin town of Ushgorod was a guest in the Darmstadt Clinic in order to exchange ideas about medical care and rehabilitation opportunities. As the Darmstadt Clinic reports in a press release, plans in the room are to build a medical rehab center for war injuries in Ushgorod.
The background to the visit is the commitment of the PDUM partnership Germany-Ukraine/Moldova e. V. , who has tirelessly provides humanitarian aid since the beginning of the war. Chairman Jochen Partsch reported that 950 tons of relief goods were delivered to Ukraine in the past three years - most recently a combined heat and power plant for generation of electricity.
Impressed by the emergency care in Darmstadt
The four -member delegation from Ukraine consisted of two political representatives of the regional council of Transcarpaties and two deputy directors of the municipal clinical hospital for multiple treatment and the regional center for neurosurgery and neurology.
The guests visited various departments of the clinic, including:
- Central emergency room with shock room and the imaging procedures CT and MRI
- Central surgery with the latest equipment, including OP robots and CT navigation
- Sectio halls and the two large operational intensive care units
The delegation was particularly impressed by the efficient structure, which enables patients to go through various treatment steps directly to the door in an emergency.
Clinic Darmstadt sets signs of support
At the final interview, Dr. Jörg Noetzel, medical managing director of the clinic:
“It is important to us to make our contribution to the support of our twin city of Ushgorod in the area of medical care. We want to set an example, especially in these difficult times. We support the initiative of the partnership and hope that numerous other supporters will participate. ”
The Darmstadt Clinic has been active in international cooperation for years and with this exchange underlines the importance of medical cooperation across national borders.
