Construction phases affect the Bischofsheim, Ginsheim-Gustavsburg and A671 interchanges
Motorists traveling on the A60 towards Mainz should expect traffic disruptions and closures in the area of the Mainspitz interchange in the coming weeks. According to Autobahn GmbH, road resurfacing work will be carried out there between the Bischofsheim (27) and Mainz-Laubenheim (24) junctions.
When and where will construction take place?
🚧 Construction period:
- Friday, March 7 to Monday, March 24, 2025
- Work will take place on weekends: Friday evening 8 pm to Monday morning 5 am.
The renovation will take place in three construction phases , with traffic being guided past the construction site in a single lane.
Closures & Detours in Detail
📍 Construction phase 1:
- Traffic will be diverted in a single lane to the right of the construction site.
📍 Construction phase 2 (March 14 – March 17, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.):
- Closure of the connecting ramps of the A671
- Road closed in the direction of Wiesbaden → Mainz
- Diversion via U24: via AS Mainz-Gustavsburg & AS Bischofsheim
📍 Construction phase 3 (March 21 – March 24, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.):
- Closure of the Ginsheim-Gustavsburg exit
- Diversion via U24 via AS Bischofsheim (direction Mainz)
- Diversion via U50 and A671 to the Ginsheim-Gustavsburg exit
Traffic congestion & route planning recommendation
As Autobahn GmbH emphasizes, the work was deliberately scheduled for weekends and nighttime hours to relieve the heavily trafficked commuter route traffic disruptions to be expected.
🛑 Recommended large-scale detours:
- A67 → Rüsselsheimer Dreieck → A3 → Mönchhofdreieck
- A66 → Wiesbaden Interchange → A60
