Lanes narrowed in the direction of Mannheim until May 22nd
Temporary traffic restrictions are in place on the A67 near the Gernsheim interchange. According to the responsible authorities, soil investigations are being carried out as part of the planning for the new Frankfurt–Mannheim rail line.
Restrictions lasting several weeks
The measures affect the Mannheim-bound lanes. From Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., until Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., two lanes will be narrowed.
The works extend over a section of approximately three kilometers in the area of the Gernsheim interchange (8).
Studies for infrastructure project
The exploratory drilling is being carried out on behalf of DB InfraGO AG. The aim is to analyze the structure of the roadbed and the properties of the subsoil. The results will be incorporated into the planning of the new Frankfurt–Mannheim rail line.
Traffic in the opposite direction is not affected
Both lanes remain fully available in the direction of Darmstadt.
The Autobahn GmbH des Bundes requests road users to adjust their driving style in the construction zone and to understand the restrictions.
