Closures and detours on the motorway until mid-May – restrictions near Pfungstadt
The western branch of Autobahn GmbH will begin resurfacing the A67 motorway on Friday, March 28, 2025, over a length of approximately four kilometers in the direction of Frankfurt. The construction work will take place between the Gernsheim interchange (8) and the Darmstadt interchange (6) and is expected to be completed by mid-May. Motorists should expect closures and detours.
Two construction phases planned
In the first phase of construction, the A67 motorway between the Gernsheim and Pfungstadt interchanges will be completely closed from Friday, March 28th, at 8 pm until Monday, March 31st, at 5 am. Traffic heading towards Frankfurt will be diverted from the Gernsheim interchange via the U5 diversion route (L3112, B44, B426) to the Pfungstadt interchange.
The second construction phase will then take place between the Pfungstadt interchange (7) and the Darmstadt interchange. From March 31st to approximately May 16th, the road surface will be repaired. Despite the construction work, all lanes of the A67 will remain open, albeit narrowed; one lane will be temporarily diverted to the opposite carriageway.
Closure at the Pfungstadt interchange
Additionally, the Pfungstadt on-ramp in the direction of Frankfurt will be closed from Wednesday, April 23rd to Friday, May 16th, 2025. Detours will lead via the B426 to the Darmstadt-Eberstadt interchange onto the A5 towards Frankfurt, and via the U40 diversion route (B426, B44, L3112) back to the Gernsheim interchange.
Autobahn GmbH recommends paying attention to traffic information, planning alternative routes early, and allowing for longer travel times.
