Public meeting on June 18th in the Heinrich-Klein-Saal / Mayor Feick: "Inclusion can only succeed together with the people on site"
The city of Reinheim is consistently pursuing its chosen path towards implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Following the initial update in 2020, the municipal action plan is now being further developed. The city's Inclusion Advisory Board invites all interested citizens Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. Heinrich Klein Hall at Hofgut Reinheim (Kirchstraße 24) .
The aim is to gather new proposals, identify existing challenges, and develop concrete measures together with those affected, associations, political bodies, and the city's residents. Previous progress will also be documented, and initiatives already underway will be further developed.
As early as 2016, Reinheim was one of the first municipalities in the region to develop its own action plan for implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This plan was based on a vision: Reinheim as a livable city for everyone – regardless of disability, age, or life circumstances. From the outset, the city focused on a broad participatory process and the active involvement of people with disabilities and their advocacy groups.
Mayor Manuel Feick emphasizes the importance of the project: “It is very important to us that we continue to develop this action plan and do so together with as many stakeholders as possible. Only in this way can we create a harmonious community for everyone in our city.” He expressly invites participation: “I would be very pleased to welcome many interested citizens to the second meeting on June 18th.”
Those who cannot attend in person have the option of submitting written proposals via email – either to the city's volunteer disability officer at behindertenbeauftragter@reinheim.de or to the social services department at soziales@reinheim.de .
