More than 600 courses and new online offerings
The Darmstadt Adult Education Center (VHS) has published its program booklet for the spring semester of 2026. The semester begins on February 23, 2026. More than 600 courses invite participants to acquire new skills for work and everyday life, to unleash their creativity, or to pursue personal development. The program is available online at www.darmstadt-vhs.de .
"The adult education center consistently succeeds in setting new standards with its program. It demonstrates once again how vibrant, diverse, and close to the people municipal continuing education is today," explains Education Officer Holger Klötzner.
Focus on flexible learning formats
This semester, a special focus is being placed on expanding online offerings. The adult education center (vhs) is thus responding to the growing demand for learning opportunities that are flexible in terms of time and location.
In addition, there are numerous weekend courses and compact individual events. These formats are aimed primarily at working professionals and individuals who wish to pursue targeted professional development without a long-term commitment. The offerings range from languages and health to culture and digital skills, as well as vocational training.
New “young adult education center” with an environmental focus
New to the program are the "young vhs" courses, developed in cooperation with the German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND). These events address environmental and sustainability topics and are aimed particularly at children and young people.
Extended opening hours of the media library
The media library at M² am Bürgerpark is also expanding its services. It is now open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This means that rooms and materials are available for longer periods for research, learning, and exchange.
Registration for all courses is now possible online, in writing, or in person. Further information is available on the adult education center's website and at the service office.
