Concerts at the Bessunger Knabenschule and the Künstlerkeller Darmstadt
The Darmstadt Americana series launches in fall 2025 with a diverse program featuring German and international influences. Curator Thomas Waldherr places particular emphasis on continually opening up new perspectives on the genre.
On Thursday, October 9, Robert Carl Blank the season. The singer-songwriter presents his first German-language album "Ungefähr Genau," which has received nationwide acclaim. In Darmstadt, he will perform both tracks from the album and new songs.
On October 30, a tribute evening for Tom Petty and Neil Young , entitled "Runnin' Down A Dream – Rockin' In A Free World ." A large ensemble of musicians, including DanaMaria, Neil & The Slowpokes, the Julia van Embers Band, Robert Oberbeck, Nils Jung, and Das Närrische Pony, will honor the two legends with music and stories.
On November 13, the series will be held at the Künstlerkeller Darmstadt . Under the title "50 Years of Blood On The Tracks," Martin Grieben, Frank Willi Schmidt, and Thomas Waldherr will perform Bob Dylan's famous album in its entirety, supplemented by selected additional songs.
Biber Herrmann will compete in the final on November 27. The folk-blues singer and guitarist from the Rhine-Main area is considered one of the best representatives of his craft in Germany.
