Concerts at the Bessunger Knabenschule and in the Künstlerkeller Darmstadt
The Darmstadt Americana series kicks off in autumn 2025 with a diverse program featuring German and international influences. Curator Thomas Waldherr places particular emphasis on continually opening up new perspectives on the genre.
Robert Carl Blank will open the season on Thursday, October 9th. The singer-songwriter will present his first German-language album, "Ungefähr Genau" (Approximately Exactly) , which has been celebrated nationwide. In Darmstadt, he will perform tracks from the album as well as new songs.
On October 30th, a tribute evening for Tom Petty and Neil Young under the title "Runnin' Down A Dream – Rockin' In A Free World" . A large ensemble of musicians, including DanaMaria, Neil & The Slowpokes, the Julia van Embers Band, Robert Oberbeck, Nils Jung and Das närrische Pony, will pay tribute to the two legends with music and stories.
On November 13th, the series will be held at the Künstlerkeller Darmstadt . Under the title "50 Years of Blood On The Tracks", Martin Grieben, Frank Willi Schmidt and Thomas Waldherr will perform Bob Dylan's famous album in its entirety, supplemented by selected additional songs.
Biber Herrmann will perform in the final on November 27th . The folk-blues singer and guitarist from the Rhine-Main region is considered one of the best representatives of his genre in Germany.
