Event on July 2 with Dr. Frank Velte illuminates animal figures from the world of stories
you to a special evening tour under the title "Animals from Sagas, Fables and Fairy Tales" The leadership takes a look at the symbolic meaning of animals in human stories and combines zoological knowledge with cultural -historical references.
Animals have always been more than just biological beings in literature - they embody properties, take over roles and shape moral ideas. Dr. Among other things, Frank Velte is asking how: What is not true with Harry Potter's snow owl? Why was the queen of the birds pushed off the throne? And why do snakes sometimes stand for evil and sometimes for the good?
Based on the animal population in the Vivarium zoo, Velte shows how cultural attributions have arisen and what influence they still have on our image of animals.
The meeting point is at the zoo entrance. The regular admission prices apply. A telephone registration is required at 06151 13-46900.
