“Paintings from Two Decades” from 12 October 2025 to 22 February 2026
The Museum Stangenberg Merck will present a comprehensive exhibition of works by Darmstadt-based artist Annette Bischoff Entitled "Paintings from Two Decades," the exhibition offers insights into a diverse oeuvre that oscillates between colorful, large-format diptychs and reduced works on paper.
Bischoff's paintings are characterized by stylistic diversity, lightness, and, at the same time, great depth of content. Her works combine precise observation with an individual formal language. Music, travel, nature, and architecture are among her central sources of inspiration.
In addition to abstract expressionist paintings, Seeheim-Jugenheim also features collages and highly reduced works. Thus, the exhibition offers a concentrated retrospective of two decades of artistic work.
The artist studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and has worked as a freelance painter since 1987. International residencies, including in Mexico, Canada, and New York, have had a lasting impact on her work.
