A varied holiday program with excursions and experiences for 32 children
DARMSTADT-ARHEILGEN – The science city of Darmstadt has drawn a positive conclusion from this year's "Arheilgen Active Holidays On Tour 2025 ," which took place from August 4th to 8th. A total of 32 children aged eight to 14 participated in the summer holiday program.
"The Arheilgen holiday program offers children from Arheilgen the opportunity to spend wonderful vacation days locally with peers. My thanks go to the two municipal youth centers, 'HEAG-Häuschen' and 'Messeler Straße,' which, as every year, organized and ran a diverse program. Many families took advantage of the offer, so the overall result is extremely positive for everyone involved," explained Mayor Barbara Akdeniz .
The children were divided into four small groups and accompanied by dedicated caregivers, experiencing new excursions every day. The program included, among other things:
- a visit to the Oberwaldhaus leisure park to kick things off,
- The Frankfurt Money Museum offers a workshop on designing your own banknote,
- a guided tour through the Frankfurt Zoo with insights into animal husbandry and nature conservation,
- The Messel Pit with original fossils and playful knowledge transfer about the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
Finally, all the children went on a trip together to the climbing forest in Darmstadt at Böllenfalltor.
According to the organizers, feedback from families and participants showed great interest and high satisfaction with the holiday program.
