Conference with ATHENE, COUNT+CARE and the State Chancellery on May 22nd
As announced by the Darmstadt Regional Council, the event "Use and Further Development of AI – Made in Hesse" will take place on May 22 as part of the European Weeks. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., representatives from research, business, and politics will discuss current AI developments in Hesse at COUNT+CARE (Frankfurter Straße 100, Darmstadt). The event is organized by EUROPE DIRECT Darmstadt at the Regional Council, ATHENE, COUNT+CARE, and the Hessian State Chancellery. Participation is free of charge.
AI applications in practice and research
The conference will open with a welcoming address by Regional President Prof. Dr. Jan Hilligardt. Following this, Antonio Jorba, IT Team Leader at COUNT+CARE, will speak on "A Practical Example of AI in Energy Supply Companies: Training, Opportunities and Limitations".
Dr. Eneldo Loza Mencía from the National Research Center ATHENE provides insights into "AI Innovations for Securing the Digital World." Another presentation comes from Dr. Michael Kreutzer (also from ATHENE), who, under the title "Artificial Intelligence – it's (not) a kind of magic!", explains where AI increases efficiency but also where its limitations lie.
Interactive AI exhibition and exchange with experts
A highlight of the event is an interactive exhibition with hands-on AI demonstrations. Visitors will gain practical insights and can exchange ideas directly with the experts. Refreshments will be provided at the concluding get-together.
Dr. Kreutzer emphasizes: "Hesse is a champion in the development of AI, especially for practical applications." Examples include deepfake detection and the fight against disinformation by ATHENE.
