Graduation gala from 15 to 17 August at the Bessunger Boys' School
With "Cirquiosk," the Berlin State School of Performing Arts presents a high-energy graduation gala at the Bessunger Knabenschule Darmstadt from August 15 to 17, 2025. The kiosk, a city meeting place, will become the stage for a show that combines circus art, lifestyle, and zeitgeist.
Ten graduates from the class of 2025 showcase their skills in a mix of contemporary circus and classical acrobatics – with juggling, rola bola, the Cyr Wheel, aerial acrobatics, and group choreography. The production reflects the diversity of Generation Z: between melancholy and humor, individuality and community, lightness and depth.
Rodrigue Funke of the renowned Wintergarten Varieté Berlin directed this modern circus production. He worked with the young artists over a year to develop it.
The current class is special in several respects: Some of the young artists have been part of the training for nine years, others have only recently joined – including, for the first time, talents from Ukraine who were able to complete their training in Berlin.
With the performance in Darmstadt, the graduation gala returns to a familiar venue after a two-year hiatus. From 2007 to 2022, the Berlin School of Performing Arts' performances were a fixture in the summer at the Bessungen Boys' School – regularly sold out and enthusiastically acclaimed.
