Graduation Gala from August 15th to 17th at the Bessunger Knabenschule (Bessunger Boys' School)
With "Cirquiosk," the State School of Artistic Performance Berlin presents an energetic graduation gala at the Bessunger Knabenschule in Darmstadt from August 15th to 17th, 2025. The kiosk, a popular urban meeting place, will be transformed into a stage for a show that combines circus arts, lifestyle, and contemporary spirit.
Ten graduates from the class of 2025 showcase their skills in a mix of contemporary circus and classical acrobatics – featuring juggling, rola bola, Cyr wheel, aerial acrobatics, and group choreography. The performance reflects the diversity of Generation Z: between melancholy and humor, individuality and community, lightness and depth.
The production was directed by Rodrigue Funke of the renowned Wintergarten Varieté Berlin. He developed this modern circus production over the course of a year together with the up-and-coming artists.
This year's class is special in several respects: some of the young artists have been part of the training for nine years, others joined only recently – including, for the first time, talents from Ukraine who were able to complete their training in Berlin.
With the performance in Darmstadt, the graduates' gala returns to a familiar venue after a two-year hiatus. From 2007 to 2022, the performances of the Berlin Circus School were a regular feature of the summer season at the Bessunger Knabenschule – consistently sold out and enthusiastically received.
