Evangelical Deanery invites you to church services on May 29th and in churches
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, parishes in the Evangelical Deanery of Darmstadt celebrate Christ's Ascension with numerous services - both outdoors and in churches. The holiday is reminiscent of the return of Christ to God in heaven. "Celebration Ascension Ride means to understand us humans as earth and sky," says Dean Dr. Raimund Wirth.
Services in Darmstadt
At 10 a.m. on the Mathildenhöhe , an open -air service under the title "When does the sky open?" , accompanied by the Evangelical trombone choir Darmstadt. The Jazzclub Darmstadt then invites you to a traditional jazz picnic. The service is a cooperation between six Darmstadt parishes.

- Kreuzkirche (Jakob-Jung-Straße 29): 10 a.m., with Pastor Barbara Themel-organized by Kreuzkirchengemeinde, resurrection community and parish of Wixhausen.
- Bessunger Church (Am Kapellberg 2): 10 a.m., service with theology student Pia Lindenblatt (Petrusgemeinde).
Services in the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg
Various Ascension services also take place in the communities of the dean's office in the district:
- Frankenstein / Felsinghütte am Waldsportplatz: 11 a.m., under the motto "About the Clouds" , with Pastor Jonas Bauer (Eberstadt). Busshuttle from Eberstadt (Christuskirche, city of Heidelberg, community center south).
- Nieder-Modau (Heinrich-Gerold-Haus): 10 a.m.
- Ernsthofen (castle church): 10 a.m., with pastor Christoph Lubotta and pastor Nicola Bültermann-Bieber, musically accompanied by wind groups from the region.
- Eschollbrücken (Grillhaus am Sandbach): 10 a.m., ecumenical service with Pastor Gudrun Olschewski and parish officer Hiltrud Beckenkamp.
- Pfungstadt-Hahn (Merschroth's Höfe): 10.30 a.m., with pastor Ute Strack de Carillo.
- Roßdorf and Gundernhausen (Rehberg): 10 a.m., ecumenical service with pastor Nathalie Franke.
- Weiterstadt (Braunshardter Tännchen): 10 a.m., with Pastor Raphael Eckert-Heckelmann and musical accompaniment of the SGW department Music.
- Erzhausen (ev. Church, Hauptstraße 23): 10.30 a.m., with Lord's Supper and predicant Jürgen Heitmann.
