Culinary, artistry and music at the start of the asparagus season in Groß-Gerau
With a festive gala in the Volkshaus Büttelborn, the asparagus days of a rough country 2025 were officially opened. Around 220 guests enjoyed a varied program and culinary specialties around the asparagus. The event was the festive start for a number of actions around the regional noble vegetables.
In addition to a high-quality asparagus buffet, prepared by six regional restaurants, visitors were expecting an entertaining supporting program: the jazz band "Hot Four" provided musical highlights, while Artist Dustin Wareee impressed with unicycle acrobatics. Moderator Christian Döring charmingly led through the evening and welcomed District Administrator Thomas Will as well as the asparagus queens Lena Lochmann (Groß-Gerau) and Svea Reitz (State of Hesse) on stage. District Administrator Thomas Will was enthusiastic: "It was a particularly atmospheric start. The gala and the asparagus days are firmly anchored in the annual calendar of the Groß-Gerau district."
