Counting the local elections requires full staff deployment
Following the local elections, the town hall in Weiterstadt will remain closed to the public on March 16 and 17, 2026.
The reason is the complex vote counting process. In particular, preferential voting and cumulative voting lead to increased time and personnel costs, meaning that employees are fully involved in the evaluation during this period.
City office remains open
Citizens still have the option of arranging individual appointments after prior consultation with the relevant case worker.
The city office remains unaffected by the closure and can be reached during its usual opening hours. The switchboard is also staffed around the clock.
The city asks for your understanding regarding this organizational measure, which serves to ensure the proper and careful execution of the vote count.
