The Science City of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt City Singers' Circle invite you to the Justus Liebig House on 19 October
The Science City of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt City Singers' Circle the first concert event "Autumn Choral Sounds" on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The gala concert begins at 5 p.m. in the Justus Liebig House (Dr. Günter Ziegler Hall, Große Bachgasse 2) . Admission is free , and doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The new format combines a choir concert with the traditional Darmstadt Singers' Awards , which recognizes long-term volunteer work.
Mayor and Head of Culture Hanno Benz emphasizes:
"With the Autumn Choral Sounds, we not only honor the commitment of Darmstadt's choirs, but also celebrate the cultural contribution they make to our city. Following the successful redesign of the Promenade Concerts, this is another important boost for Darmstadt's musical life."
Five choirs will perform the concert program
The concert showcases the diversity of Darmstadt's choral scene . Featuring:
- Butchers' Choir Darmstadt 1903
- Darmstadt-Kranichstein Choir 1989
- Women's Choir WiDaNoVo
- Youth choir “Soundproof”
- Youth choir “Just AmaSing” of the children’s and youth choirs Darmstadt-Wixhausen
They present a varied program of classical and modern repertoire.
Honoring long-standing singers
During the event, 14 singers from six Darmstadt choirs honored for their long-standing commitment. Mayor Hanno Benz and Karin Papalau, chairwoman of the Darmstadt City Choirs' Circle, present the awards.

The city and the Sängerkreis are thus honoring the decades-long commitment of many volunteers who, with their dedication, have had a lasting impact on Darmstadt's cultural life.
