Chopin Society presents romantic piano music
American pianist Avery Gagliano will be performing in Darmstadt on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The Chopin Society of Darmstadt invites you to a piano recital at 7 p.m. in the Literaturhaus (House of Literature) on Kasinostraße.
Works of Romanticism in focus
The program features important works of Romantic piano music. Compositions by Robert Schumann, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Frédéric Chopin, among others, will be performed.
The selection ranges from Schumann's "Novelettes" and Rachmaninoff's "Préludes" to Chopin's "Mazurkas." The program concludes with Chopin's Sonata in B minor, Op. 58, one of the most important works of Romantic piano literature.
International career of the pianist
Avery Gagliano gained international recognition when she won the National Chopin Competition in the USA in 2020. Since then, she has performed in Europe and at international festivals.
The pianist studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and is currently continuing her studies with András Schiff at the Kronberg Academy. Her concerts are regularly broadcast by radio stations.
