70 hikers and 31 hiking guides honored
The annual awards ceremony and Christmas party of the Odenwald Club Groß-Gerau in the festively decorated brewery in Hassloch . Chairman Wolfgang Schmall welcomed 46 members and guests Hildegard Lochmüller , awaited each guest .
Together with hiking coordinator Beate Bolbach , Wolfgang Schmall honored a total of 70 active hikers and cyclists – including two children . The awards recognized their regular participation in the club's tours. Not all of the award recipients were able to attend in person that evening.
Interspersed throughout the event were short presentations providing entertainment. Heinz Pitzer humorously recounted a unique experience with bean soup, before Reiner Dietz, Ingrid Kämmerer, Rosel Wolk, and Heinz Pitzer each received a clubhouse voucher as top hikers .
As a token of appreciation for organizing and leading the tours, all 31 hiking guides presented with a bottle of fine wine. Another item on the agenda was an entertaining exchange between Heinz Pitzer and Rosel Wolk about the advantages and disadvantages of using an umbrella while hiking .
Following the awards ceremony, a pleasant coffee and cake reception , donated by the Odenwald Club, took place. Rosel Wolk read a story about a grandmother and her grandson searching for the Christmas angel, while Heinz Pitzer invited everyone to pause and reflect with a thoughtful tale about the Christmas season of the future.
In closing, Wolfgang Schmall everyone involved who had contributed to the success of the celebration, as well as those present for attending. He also extended his wishes for a blessed Christmas and a healthy reunion in the new year – both while hiking and sharing enjoyable moments together at the Odenwald Club Groß-Gerau.
