The Eberstadt Citizens' Association looks forward to welcoming many enthusiastic bakers
Regular baking days will continue to be held at the Geibel blacksmith shop in Eberstadt in the new year. These are organized by the "Backes" working group of the Eberstadt Citizens' Association of 1980.
The first baking day of the new year will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in the garden of the Geibel blacksmith shop at Oberstraße 20 in Eberstadt. All visitors are welcome to bring their own dough for bread, rolls, pizza, and cakes and bake them in the wood-fired clay oven. The baking day begins at 10:00 a.m. with lighting the oven and making preparations. Around noon, the embers will be pushed aside, and the oven will be ready for baking pizza and tarte flambée. By 1:00 p.m., the oven will have reached the appropriate temperature, the embers and ashes will be removed, and the bread can be placed inside. After about an hour, the bread will be ready, and then it will be time to bake the cakes. The baking day will end around 3:00 p.m.
The delicious treats can be enjoyed on-site in the cozy garden or in the covered barn. A fire pit is also available for warming up in cold weather. Drinks are available for purchase. Visitors should bring their own dough and toppings. Participation in the baking day is free of charge. A donation box will be available. The next baking days will be on February 22nd and March 22nd. The "Backes" working group looks forward to welcoming many enthusiastic bakers.
