In autumn and winter 2024, Darmstadt citizens were able to continue their training on the topics of building technology, renovation, photovoltaics, air conditioning and other topics after work. Participation in the lectures was possible both on site in the center for city nature in the orangery in improvements and online.
“The imparting of practical knowledge and advising citizens is very important to us. The showing of good, implementable solutions and possibilities to make your own home 'Future Fit' and at the same time to be able to contribute to the warming of climate met with great interest in the listeners, it is worth looking at the various records, ”says climate protection director Michael Kolmer . On the six themed evenings, the experts at the municipal office for climate protection and climate adaptation with myths around the home such as 'Walls have to breathe' or 'heat pumps only go up in the new building' and gave clear examples and explanations of the building energy law and many other current questions.
Using the example of a private residential building in the home settlement, it was shown which steps are possible and sensible in the event of a building renovation and how the conversion can succeed on an efficient heat pump. Information on costs and savings was also shown transparently. Rudolf Bersch, energy consultant from the Hesse consumer center, explained that all questions about the topic of photovoltaic system, for example, are suitable for the operation of the electric car and the supply of heating and hot water.
