The Protestant deanery invites people to baptisms in the open air
The Protestant Deanery of Darmstadt invites everyone to a large baptismal festival at the Woog in Darmstadt on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The event is open to those being baptized, regardless of age – from children and teenagers to adults.
Baptisms on and in the water
The baptisms take place directly at the Woog, either on the shore or in the water. This makes the festival a unique form of baptism in a natural setting.
The program begins at 11 a.m. with an open-air church service. The service will be accompanied musically by the "ImPuls Band" from Eberstadt. Baptisms will be part of the service, and there will also be opportunities for personal reflection on baptism. Further activities are planned.
Open festival for everyone
The baptismal celebration is open to the public and guests are welcome to join in the festivities. Drinks and refreshments will be served after the service. The celebration will continue in a relaxed atmosphere.
In case of bad weather, the service will be moved to nearby churches. You will be notified in advance.
