Concert with organ and video projection on October 19 – in aid of Malteser medicine for people without health insurance
on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 5 p.m. in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Darmstadt-Arheilgen (Zöllerstraße 3). The internationally renowned concert organist Detlef Steffenhagen an extraordinary program entitled "Bach to Beatles – Classical Music Inspires Pop."
The concert is visually enhanced by a video projection of the artist in the chancel, offering a unique experience for both eyes and ears. Steffenhagen impressively demonstrates how modern pieces are based on classical models: parallels can be drawn between works by Bach or Pachelbel and hits like "The Phantom of the Opera , "Go West," or "Ballade pour Adeline ." His virtuosic playing juxtaposes original compositions with new creations, lending the organ a completely new sound.
Admission is free, but donations to support the Malteser medical services for people without health insurance at Marienhospital Darmstadt are welcome. Further information about the project can be found here.
