Police offer protection against theft – registration possible from May 19th
To prevent bicycle theft, the Darmstadt 2nd Police Precinct is offering free bicycle coding on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at Heidelberger Straße 195, on the premises of Farbenkrauth.
The coding complements traditional anti-theft devices such as sturdy locks or GPS trackers. It makes it possible to unequivocally return a found bicycle to its rightful owner – and deters potential thieves.
Registration by phone is required
Registration is mandatory and can be done on the following days:
- Monday, May 19 to Thursday, May 22
- Monday, May 26 to Wednesday, May 28
- from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. by phone at 06151 / 969-41254
For registration, information about the manufacturer, type and frame number of the bicycle should already be available.
Required documents for coding:
- Identity card or other identification document
- Proof of ownership for the bicycle
- E-bike or pedelec owners: Bring your battery key
- Carbon wheels cannot be coded
Anyone who is unable to attend on May 31st can find information about further coding dates in the region www.polizei.hessen.de
