The campaign on August 21st aims to improve theft protection
Darmstadt. The 1st Police Precinct invites residents to have their bicycles and e-scooters coded on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Bismarckstraße 16. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and complements other security measures such as sturdy locks, GPS trackers, and proper locking.
For coding, you will need an identification document, proof of ownership, and information about the manufacturer, model, and frame number. Owners of e-bikes or pedelecs should also bring their battery keys. Carbon fiber bikes cannot be coded.
To avoid waiting times, attachments to the center frame – such as locks or brackets – should be removed beforehand. Those unable to attend the scheduled appointment can find further options on the Hesse Police .
