Darmstadt. The Darmstadt City Archives invites the public to the presentation of a new biography of Darmstadt travel writer and photographer Milli Bau The event will take place in the Eckhart G. Franz Hall of the House of History at Karolinenplatz 3.
The author of this work is Dr. Manfred Efinger , who traces the extraordinary life of Milli Bau for the first time in a comprehensive monograph. The biography is published on the occasion of her 119th birthday and is based on previously unpublished photographs, documents, and interviews with contemporaries – many of them from private collections.
Remembering a cosmopolitan woman from Darmstadt
In 2024, the city archives presented Milli Bau's estate in an exhibition for the first time. Photos, letters, and manuscripts offered insights into the eventful life of the journalist, translator, and globetrotter. Now, with this biography, a comprehensive account of her life story is available – from Darmstadt to the world and back.
Following the reading, there will be an opportunity to purchase the book and have it signed by the author. The event is organized by the Darmstadt City Archives, author Dr. Manfred Efinger, and the Justus Liebig publishing house. Admission is free.
