Move to Berlin: New sporting director at Hertha BSC
Björn Müller is stepping down from his position as sporting director at the Merck Youth Performance Center (NLZ) of SV Darmstadt 98 with immediate effect. The 48-year-old will take over as sporting director of Hertha BSC's football academy.
Uwe Kuhl, executive committee representative for the youth development center and sporting development, explained: "Björn has informed us that he would like to take on a new challenge at Hertha. We have honored this wish and agreed on an early termination of his employment. In his three years as sporting director, Björn has initiated and developed many things, and done an excellent job. We sincerely thank him for this and wish him all the best for the future."
Müller himself looks back with gratitude: "The past few years have been a very formative and valuable time for me, during which we have taken many steps together in the development of our youth academy. I have been able to work in a great environment here and am grateful for the trust that has been placed in me. Darmstadt 98 will always be a special club for me."
Müller has been sporting director at the Lilies' NLZ since June 2022.
