Move to Berlin: New sporting director at Hertha BSC
Björn Müller is resigning from his position as Sporting Director at the Merck Youth Performance Center (NLZ) of SV Darmstadt 98 with immediate effect. The 48-year-old will take over as Sporting Director of the Hertha BSC Football Academy.
Uwe Kuhl, the board representative for the youth academy and sporting development, explained: “Björn informed us that he would like to take on a new challenge at Hertha. We granted his request and agreed to an early termination of his employment. During his three years as sporting director, Björn initiated and developed many projects and did excellent work. We thank him sincerely for this and wish him all the best for the future.”
Müller himself looks back with gratitude: “The past few years have been a very formative and valuable time for me, during which we have taken many steps together in the development of our youth academy. I was able to work in a great environment here and am grateful for the trust that was placed in me. Darmstadt 98 will always remain a special club for me.”
Müller had been the sporting director at the Lilies' youth academy since June 2022.
