The bomb disposal service will examine the suspected site on January 31st and February 1st
Near Darmstadt's North Station, a possible bomb will be uncovered and examined by the bomb disposal unit January 31st and February 1st . If the suspicion is confirmed, the object will be defused or detonated in a controlled explosion, depending on its nature.
The work requires an evacuation of the area within a 500-meter radius of the suspected site. The entry ban, based on a general city order, will come on Sunday, February 1st, at 7:00 a.m. and will initially remain in place until 10:00 p.m.
Evacuation and shelter
The evacuation affects approximately 200 people . The city is setting up a temporary shelter for them in the cafeteria of the vocational school center (Alsfelder Straße 23). The Darmstadt city police are urging affected residents to leave their homes. They are advised to take sufficient quantities of personal medication, baby food, and other essential items with them.
Transport and support
For transport between Daimlerweg, Carl-Schenck-Ring, Nordbahnhof and the cafeteria, HEAG provide
buses on Sunday at 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. Qualified patient transport can on Saturday, January 31, between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. via the city's information hotline.
Information for the public
The public warning will be issued on Saturday, January 31, at 3 p.m. , including via cell broadcast.
The city's information hotline will be available on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. from 6 a.m. on Sunday .
Businesses in the evacuation zone that are open on Sundays will be informed separately. Täubcheshöhlenweg will be by Merck 9:00 a.m. . Public transport stops will not be served during this period; HEAG mobilo . Deutsche Bahn is involved in the coordination.

Head of Public Order Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes:
“The procedure is being closely and carefully coordinated with all parties involved to minimize the impact of this work on the population. I thank everyone involved for their constructive cooperation with the city's crisis management team. As soon as the work at the suspected location is successfully completed, we will immediately inform the public that they can return to their homes.”
