Movement and community: Boules for people with dementia in Darmstadt
The group meets every Wednesday from 2 pm to 4 pm at Bessunger Forstmeisterplatz, behind the Jagdhofkeller. For €22 per session, which can be billed through the long-term care insurance relief allowance, participants enjoy exercise, social interaction, and a structured activity.

Fun is the main focus
Volunteer coordinator Elke Schneider emphasizes: "It's not about playing particularly well, but about having fun together." Scientific studies show that activity and new sensory stimuli can slow the progression of the disease.
The group is accompanied by trained volunteers who have received special training for this task. During this time, family members short break , talk to each other, or have a coffee together. Many new friendships have already been formed!
