Over 170 participants attended the prevention conference as part of the #AKTIONSCHUTZSCHILD campaign.
As the organizers announced, this year's prevention conference for the "Protective Shield" place in Darmstadt on Thursday afternoon (November 20th). More than 170 teachers, educational professionals from daycare centers, staff from facilities for children with disabilities, and childminders participated to learn about key issues in child and youth protection.
Expert presentations, research findings and regional contacts
The participants were welcomed by the Chancellor of TU Darmstadt, Dr. Droll , and by Manfred Burkart , Head of Operations at the South Hesse Police Headquarters.
During the presentations, the participants received practical recommendations , insights into current scientific findings , and clear information on regional contacts . The conference demonstrated the importance of coordinated cooperation between the police, youth services, educational institutions, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
Strong message: Child protection is a shared responsibility
"Break Your Silence" campaign and embedded in the "Together Safe in Hesse" of the Hesse police. Both initiatives emphasize that child protection is not an isolated task, but a responsibility shared by society as a whole.
The project team – Janina Hallstein (Network Against Violence South Hesse), Florian Sauerwein (South Hesse Police Headquarters) and Manuela Tollerian (Central Youth Coordinator) – emphasized the importance of networking.
Florian Sauerwein stressed:
“Our goal is that no one goes home feeling uncertain, but rather with greater clarity, more competence in action, and the positive feeling: I am not alone – we are connected. ”
