Edition at the town hall reception possible after training the employees
Good news for everyone who wants to protect themselves against the impending schnaken plague: From Tuesday, June 10, 2025, citizens of the Büchnerstadt can again pick up BTI tablets at the reception of the town hall free of charge . The edition had been suspended in the meantime, since there was new requirements for submitting the agent due to a change of legal change.
Background: New regulations by EU law
The municipal working group to combat the Schnakenlklage (KABS) had informed about new regulations on the submission of BTI tablets . The background is an EU regulation according to which BTI products are classified as biocide products of product type 18 (insecticides) . ban on self -service has been in effect since the legal change - this means that the submission to the population may only be made by people with a corresponding expertise .
Several employees of the city administration have such a qualification, but re -training was necessary before the edition could continue. Other member municipalities of the KABS were also affected by the new regulation. The KABS therefore organized training at short notice, so that the distribution is possible again from June 10th.
Effect and application
BTI (Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis) is a biologically effective means of combating larvae of certain types of mosquito, in particular mosquitoes (culicidae) and croved mosquitoes (Simuliidae) . The protein crystals formed by the bacterium already act to the larvae in low doses, but are harmless to humans, pets and other animals .
