The Büchner House in Riedstadt-Goddelau invites you to a literary and theatrical tour on June 28th
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Büchner House at Weidstraße 9 offers a special themed tour: Starting at 3:00 p.m., museum director Peter Brunner key aspects of Georg Büchner's novella "Lenz," accompanied by dramatic presentations from members of the BüchnerBühne Riedstadt theater group . The event brings literature and theater into direct dialogue – a vibrant approach to one of the Hessian poet's major works.
Büchner's fragment "Lenz" depicts episodes from the life of the poet Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz , who sought refuge with the pastor Johann Friedrich Oberlin in Waldersbach, Alsace, in 1778. The text is based on Oberlin's diary entries and was written during Büchner's exile in Strasbourg. The literary portrayal moves between psychological portrait and social commentary—and remains one of the most impressive prose texts in German literary history.
The tour combines in-depth insights into Büchner's work with theatrical readings and is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about the literary Büchner and his work.
