The focus on the organic waste fermentation plant will be on September 28th
On Sunday, September 28, 2025 , AWS (Abfall-Wirtschafts-Service GmbH) and Riedwerke will open the gates of the Büttelborn waste management center on Hardt/B42. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., visitors can expect a diverse program about the future of waste management.
The focus is on the construction of the new organic waste fermentation plant , which represents an important step towards sustainable waste management and climate-friendly energy supply. Guests will gain insights into the construction progress, the plant's operation, and its impact on the environment and the region.
In addition, there will be tours of the waste management center and landfill , demonstrations in various departments, and a vehicle fleet exhibition . Entertainment is also provided: live music, fire brigade drills, and an adventure playground are part of the program. Food and drinks will be available.
The open day offers an opportunity to obtain comprehensive information, ask questions and take a look into the future of regional waste management.
