The city is informing the public about widespread misinformation
The city of Darmstadt has issued a press release warning of disinformation and misleading claims surrounding the 2025 federal election. These claims are being deliberately spread to unsettle voters. The city states that false information is already circulating at the postal voting office.
Corrections to common misinformation
Ballot papers: Ballot papers for the federal election have a marking in the upper right corner for blind and visually impaired voters. This is not a defect and does not affect the secrecy of the ballot.
Ballot boxes: Ballot boxes must be lockable, but neither sealed nor signed. The election committee is responsible for their security.
Election observation: Anyone can observe the vote count, even those not eligible to vote. Registration is not required. However, taking photos or copies of documents is not permitted.
