Joint appeal for democracy and science
The city of Darmstadt has issued a press release announcing a joint appeal to voters from representatives of the scientific and higher education sectors. Under the motto "Democracy needs science – science needs democracy," leading institutions are calling for participation in the federal elections on February 23.
Darmstadt Science City Roundtable
In a joint appeal, Professor Tanja Brühl , President of the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt , Hanno Benz , Mayor of the science city of Darmstadt, and Alexander Gemeinhardt , Managing Director of the Schader Foundation , called for voter participation.
Brühl, Benz and Gemeinhardt are the initiators and inviters to the “Round Table Science City Darmstadt” , a regular dialogue forum with the management of Darmstadt's universities, science and cultural institutions as well as leading research companies.
With the slogan "Democracy needs science – science needs democracy. Our election on February 23," scientific institutions and actors will be highlighting the importance of the federal election for science #RunderTischWissenschaftDarmstadt
Call to vote for an open society
"The federal election on February 23rd is a crucial day for the further development of our democracy and thus for the free development of science. In our science city of Darmstadt, we are committed to continuing to live in a cosmopolitan and diverse country: Give and raise your voice for this," emphasize the initiators of the joint appeal.
