The Groß-Gerau district is specifically expanding its care support center
The Groß-Gerau district is expanding its care support center, creating a new point of contact for families with children and young people requiring care. In the future, a specialized advice center will complement the existing services for the elderly and disabled at the district office's care support center.
The background to this is the significantly increasing need for support for children with care needs and their families, a trend that has been ongoing for years. The expansion is made possible by a funding project from the Hessian Ministry for Family, Seniors, Sport, Health and Care , for which the district's care support center successfully applied.
Network building for children and young people
The focus of this funding project is the development of sustainable network structures in the child and youth sector. These include pediatricians and specialists, early intervention services, therapists, childcare services, social services, and other participating institutions. The funding will be used in particular to strengthen individualized care counseling within the framework of structured case management.
The aim of the project is to create new support structures and to provide early, low-threshold and needs-based support to affected families.
Case management as a central pillar
Case management is an established method in social work and describes the coordinated collaboration of various stakeholders in complex individual cases. This involves close cooperation between medical professionals, social services, and youth welfare offices, among others, to bundle support services and tailor them precisely to the individual situation of the child.
New employee starting mid-January
Starting Thursday, January 15th, a new staff member will be responsible for children and young people at the Groß-Gerau district's care support center. She will be responsible for advising families and developing the necessary network structures. This specialized service is a new development in the Groß-Gerau district and also holds a special position regionally.
