Continuity and new beginnings with a view to the local elections
The CDU district association for the Martins and Johannesviertel neighborhoods elected a new board at its annual general meeting and also reviewed the past two years. The district's area of responsibility includes the Martins and Johannesviertel, Edelsteinviertel, Rosenhöhe, Bürgerparkviertel, Pallaswiesenviertel, and Waldkolonie neighborhoods.
Community work and key issues
In its report, the board highlighted the intensive work carried out in the city's districts. Numerous concerns from the community were addressed, monitored, and in many cases resolved. A central issue was the conflict on Dieburger Straße. In cooperation with the citizens' initiative and the mobility department, a viable compromise was reached, which is considered a contribution to lasting "mobility peace" in the district.
Another focus was on the issue of drugs in the Herrngarten and Johannesviertel districts. The district held discussions with residents and stakeholders and played a key role in developing the 10-point action plan, which was subsequently implemented by a resolution of the city council.
Preparation for the local elections
Currently, the focus is on preparing for the local elections. To this end, separate neighborhood programs have been developed and candidates nominated. At the meeting, the district chairman acknowledged the substantive contributions from the district and emphasized the importance of this work for the upcoming election campaign.
