Youth sports awards ceremony of the city of Riedstadt at the Goddelau outdoor swimming pool
The town of Riedstadt, known for its connection to the author Büchner, honored its successful young athletes at the Goddelau outdoor swimming pool. Mayor Marcus Kretschmann and town council chairman Guido Funk presented certificates and book vouchers to approximately 50 young people for their outstanding athletic achievements in 2024.
gymnastics, tennis, table tennis, track and field, soccer, mountain biking, karate, canoe racing, hobby horsing, and inline speed skating were honored . The remaining 55 athletes will receive their awards from their clubs.
Successes up to the European Championship
Among those honored were district champions and podium finishers at the South Hessian, Central German, Hessian, and German championships . The outstanding achievement of Florian Gehre gold medal at the Junior European Rope Skipping Championships .
track and field departments also received special recognition Heidi Fürstenhöfer , who earned her 50th sports badge presented the awards . Mayor Kretschmann was impressed by the young athletes' achievements and expressly thanked the parents and clubs for their commitment.
Zumba performance and summer atmosphere
Zumba Kids of TSV 03 Wolfskehlen, led by Feruza Musaev created a lively atmosphere . Before their first joint performance, the young dancers explained that Zumba is a mix of dance, fitness, and fun – and subsequently received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The raffle was also very popular: the first prize was a Holiday Park voucher for three people , the second a voucher for the Miramar adventure pool and the third an entry to the Pfungstadt bouldering hall .
In a summery atmosphere, the outdoor swimming pool itself became a popular place for refreshment – a fitting setting for a dignified tribute to the young athletes.
