“Judas” in the Trinity Church
Ben Hergl performs in the Chawwerusch production "JUDAS". In the solo piece, the controversial apostle who, according to the Bible, betrayed Jesus with his kiss has his say.
For 2,000 years, he has been held responsible for Jesus' death on the cross, considered the epitome of the traitor, and repeatedly misused to justify prejudice and antisemitism in every form. In a staged show, he now appears in person before the audience and can finally speak for himself. The audience hears what drove this contemporary and ardent follower of Jesus of Nazareth to escalate the situation in the Garden of Gethsemane. A harrowing monologue that astonishes, explains much, but also leaves much open to interpretation. Those who listen are left to confront their own thoughts.
The solo piece by Lot Vekemans, directed by Ro Tritschler.
