Kita Steinstraße presents exhibition “Children can do art”
The exhibition "Children Can Do Art" Friday, September 19, 2025 will showcase how creative and imaginative children can be, even at nursery and daycare age. The opening at 5 p.m. will feature works by the girls and boys who attend the Steinstraße daycare center.
Under the guidance of teachers Kathrin Egelhof and Claudia Herzig, the children have been experimenting with various painting and design techniques over the past few months – from spatula and marble techniques to stamping, crepe paper, and sand, as well as working with drinking straws and salt dough. "The children approached the work with great curiosity and a wealth of ideas. Each picture is unique in its own way," says Kathrin Egelhof.
All of the children at the daycare center—from preschool age to first-graders—participated and created up to eight works of art. The young artists even chose the titles for their works themselves—and when they couldn't think of one, they simply left it with "Untitled," just like their older role models.
The exhibition at the City Museum on the Market Square is on display until Saturday, September 28 , 2025. It showcases creative diversity and provides insights into the world of the youngest artists.
