Kita Steinstraße presents exhibition “Children can do art”
The exhibition "Children Can Do Art," Friday, September 19, 2025 showcases the creativity and imagination of children even at the nursery and kindergarten age. The opening at 5 p.m. will feature works by the boys and girls who attend the Steinstraße daycare center.
Under the guidance of educators Kathrin Egelhof and Claudia Herzig, the children have experimented with various painting and design techniques over the past few months – from spatula and marble techniques to stamping, crepe paper and sand, and even working with drinking straws or salt dough. "The children approached the work with great curiosity and a wealth of ideas. Each picture is unique in its own way," says Kathrin Egelhof.
All the children in the daycare center – from toddlers to those starting school – participated and created up to eight works of art. The little artists also chose the titles for their works themselves – and if they couldn't think of one, they simply left it "untitled," just like their adult role models.
The exhibition at the City Museum on the market square can be seen until Saturday, September 28 , 2025. It showcases the creative diversity and provides insights into the world of the youngest artists.
