Lantern parade, brass band and Christmas atmosphere on December 26th
On the second day of Christmas, a broad ecumenical alliance once again invites everyone to the atmospheric Christmas service "Christmas by the Fire ." The event will take place on Thursday, December 26, at the BVM barbecue hut in the Bürgerpark (Kastanienallee 17) and will feature music by the Darmstadt Protestant Brass Ensemble.
Starting at 5 p.m., participants will set off from several churches and community centers in the surrounding area and walk together with lanterns to the event location. The open-air service will then begin around 5:45 p.m. around a large fire.
The organizers include the parishes of St. Thomas, St. Michael, Martin Luther, St. Philip, St. John, and St. Paul Gerhardt, as well as St. Elizabeth and the Martinsviertel District Association (BVM). Mulled wine, children's punch, and cookies will be served after the service. Attendees are asked their own mugs .
