Joint concert of the Onomatopoetikon Chamber Choir and the Mozart Choir Darmstadt
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the Onomatopoetikon Chamber Choir and the Darmstadt Mozart Choir to a festive concert in Darmstadt's Collegiate Church . They will perform the "Christmas Oratorio" by British composer Bob Chilcott , which combines traditional Christmas music with contemporary sounds.
Under the musical direction of Danilo Tepša, the two choirs, together with soloists Esther Hock (mezzo-soprano) , David Jakob Schläger (tenor) , and Florian Küppers (bass), present a Christmas program that captures the special atmosphere of English choral music. They will be accompanied by harp, flute, a brass ensemble, and organ.
The concert invites the audience to actively participate: In the best English choral tradition, visitors are encouraged to sing along to the included British Christmas carols. This creates an evening that combines reflection, community, and musical diversity.
Admission is free, donations are welcome and will benefit the work of the Mozart Society Darmstadt .
