Three dates in February
Klaus Mertens (baritone), one of the most distinguished singers on the world's Baroque scene, will be performing at St. Ludwig's Church. Together with Astrid Brachtendorf (Baroque trumpet) and regional cantor Jorin Sandau at the two organs of St. Ludwig's Church, he will present songs and festive arias by Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, and others. A special highlight of the program is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd, which offers a final reflection on the Christmas season.

Ecumenical Organ Winter “The Trumpet shall sound”

Another concert will take place during the Ecumenical Organ Winter series . As part of the traditional organ bench exchange, Lukas Euler, cantor of St. Paul's Church, will be performing at St. Ludwig's. He will play works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, César Franck, and others. The performer will introduce the pieces to be heard at 5:30 p.m.

New wing
At the end of last year, the St. Ludwig parish in Darmstadt purchased a high-quality grand piano for the teaching and rehearsal work of the regional cantor's office. As part of a benefit concert, soloists from the choirs, together with professional instrumentalists and regional cantor Jorin Sandau, will present the new instrument.
Admission is free, but donations to finance the project are requested.
