Choir management, organ play and band training -wide range for young musicians
The diocese of Mainz will start the coming school year November 29, 2025 The offer is aimed at music -interested people aged 13 and over, who want to train in various areas of church music - from choral management to popular music. possible until September 30, 2025
Training with regional focus
The training courses are organized by the Institute for Church Music in the diocese of Mainz and offered close to home - including in Mainz, Darmstadt, Gießen and Bad Nauheim . The regional cantors and external teachers are taught. The teaching fee is 65 euros per month and also includes individual lessons.
Wide spectrum from organ to pop
The course offer ranges from classic organ training to the management of children's, youth and adult choirs to training in popular music . Band coaching, arrangement, event technology and voice training also on the program. Particularly practical: The basic course choral conductor , which has been offered as an entry course without a aptitude test since 2024. The prerequisites are basic knowledge of the music reading (violin and bass key), a minimum age of 13 years as well as initial musical experiences, e.g. B. in choral singing or playing the piano.
A cooperation with the diocese of Limburg agreed for the area of popular music. Praxis -oriented content is conveyed here on six Saturdays a year - supplemented by individual instrumental lessons.
