Heiner Initiatives and the city train citizen solar advisors in Darmstadt
The City of Darmstadt and the initiatives heiner*energie , heiner*solarberatung , and heiner*heizungsoptimierung are seeking additional volunteer citizen solar advisors for consultation, organization, and public relations . Initiated by the city's photovoltaic funding program, over 400 local consultations have already been conducted in four district groups , and numerous new systems have been installed.
Training and support
To meet increased demand for advice on solar systems and heating optimization of approximately 100 volunteers be expanded. The future citizen solar advisors will receive training – supported by the City of Darmstadt and the local chapter of the German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND) – in the planning, installation, and operation of photovoltaic systems, as well as in optimizing existing heating systems .
Climate protection with social added value
“These projects demonstrate how local initiatives, together with the city, real climate protection , strengthen neighborhood services and support, and thus also social added value . My thanks go to all the volunteers for their commitment to the well-being of our city,” explains Climate Protection Officer Michael Kolmer .
