Riedstadt's local council leads the statewide ranking – once again the most bicycle-friendly municipality in the Groß-Gerau district
Riedstadt remains the benchmark for cycling in the Groß-Gerau district: For the fifth consecutive year, Riedstadt has defended title as the most bicycle-friendly municipality 5.92 kilometers cycled per resident, Riedstadt once again secured the coveted challenge cup . Mörfelden-Walldorf (5.31 km) and Stockstadt (4.39 km) follow behind. In terms of total kilometers cycled, third with 137,859 kilometers
An even bigger surprise: In the special category of "most bicycle-friendly local council," Riedstadt's city councilors currently hold first place in Hesse – ahead of Seeheim-Jugenheim and Mittenaar (Lahn-Dill district). In the Groß-Gerau district, the local council has secured this title for the seventh time . Twenty of the 37 councilors participated, averaging 62.76 kilometers per person .
Schools, clubs and daycare centers strongly represented
Martin-Niemöller-School once again emerged victorious – with 305 active cyclists and 44,937 kilometers , they were also the strongest team. Second place went to the Kita der kleinen Füße Erfelden (92 participants), followed by TSV Goddelau (87 participants).
In terms of kilometers cycled per team member, the team “Die Verfahrer” with an impressive 823 km per person , followed by “Senioren ohne E-Motor” (637 km) and the “Offenes Team Riedstadt” (453 km).
