Interior demolition is underway – construction crane and scaffolding will follow in the coming weeks.
Griesheim – The renovation of the roof at Griesheim Town Hall is progressing. Following the completion of the construction site setup and the closure of Schillerstrasse at the end of June, preparatory work has now begun in the attic of the administrative building. The aim is a comprehensive renewal of the roof structure and the technical infrastructure in the upper part of the building.
Dismantling of the technical equipment in the attic
Currently, existing installations are being dismantled. This includes electrical, heating and plumbing systems, IT infrastructure, as well as furniture and fixtures. Some of these are being stored professionally, while others are being dismantled and replaced later.

The road closure in Schillerstrasse not only serves safety purposes, but also provides important space for construction site logistics: Among other things, containers for sanitary facilities and staff rooms as well as parking spaces for construction waste containers are located there.
Interior demolition begins at Griesheim Town Hall
In the coming days, the complete interior demolition of the top floor will begin. Simultaneously, a construction crane will be erected, scaffolding will be built, and safety measures will be implemented both inside and outside the building to prevent access via the scaffolding. These precautions will lay the groundwork for the subsequent exterior demolition of the roof.

Because the town hall is completely scaffolded and fitted with a weather protection roof, the construction progress in the outdoor area remains largely invisible to the public.
Supply lines and preparations completed
Infrastructure lines were laid across Schillerstrasse in advance to ensure the electricity and water supply for the containers on the west side of the street. The contracted specialist companies had time to prepare their work beforehand, resulting in a gap between the road closure, setting up the construction site, and the visible progress of the work – a typical sequence of events in complex renovation projects.
