Mobile network upgrade: Nighttime work from 8 pm to 7 am / Parking garages remain accessible
As part of the modernization of mobile network coverage in the City Tunnel, there will be nighttime traffic restrictions. From Monday, June 16, to Wednesday, June 18, 2025 , the entrance to the City Tunnel from Rheinstraße closed each night from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
This measure affects only the access from Rheinstraße. The exit from the tunnel and the access roads to the surrounding parking garages remain fully open .
The city of Darmstadt asks road users for their understanding regarding the nighttime restrictions. The modernization work aims to improve mobile phone reception in the tunnel area and is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday morning.
